About Me:
Hello There,
My Name is Lee Craft and I am so glad you are here. Take a look around at the site and enjoy the art, tell me what you think. I know you will enjoy what you see.
I work quickly and deliver beautiful pieces, and have been called a style chameleon because I can work in almost any style to achieve what the client wants.
Oh me, well I am an artist and designer based out of Nashville, TN. I grew up in Nashville surrounded by the art and vibrancy that the Music City is known for. I started drawing cars and heroes at a young age and when all the people in my class clamoured for drawing of animals and celebrities that's when I set my sights on becoming an artist. I started selling one-off hand-drawn pencil and ink images and painting Heroic scale miniatures. One of my greatest goals was to eventually design something for major public consumption and set up to design an automobile and that was to be my goal, and for the most part, still is, this goal to be consumed by the public is the basis for all my striving.
I would eventually head to the idyllic foothills of East Tennessee and find myself a Maryville College, recruited to wrestle but would never get the chance in college. At Maryville, I would study Studio Arts with an emphasis on Graphic Design and Photography as well as several other things including ethics, marketing, paint, 3d Design and eventually complete a senior thesis on Automotive Design tracing the shapes and body lines through history. Then use this study to inform the creation of a full line automaker with 3 vehicles, 1/5th scale models of the vehicles, and the marketing material for the company.
In College I studied abroad in Wales at Glyndŵr University in Wrexham, Wales and was involved with everything, could move between most groups, working with Residence Life, Fraternities, Political Parties on all points of the compass, Social Movements, the Theatre, put my self through school running sound around East Tennessee and got stuck into many other things that an outspoken Art Student would get wrapped up in. While this lead to its share of struggles that involved protesting, free speech, calls with the ACLU, and beating down doors for causes, I can't say that I didn't love my time in school.
After graduating I moved back to Nashville, TN and while working various jobs I have been doing freelancing art while also running sound in and around Middle Tennessee. I started a charitable fund called “Music Cures Cancer" where I put on shows around Middle Tennessee to raise money for cancer research, If you would like to get involved You can find information on the Other Projects page. I have also started two separate garment lines RL Craft Drygoods and Craft Combat, These can also be found on the Other Projects page
Thanks for taking the time, I appreciate your consideration and I can't wait to work with you.
